Prague police clash with student protesters over reform
Police beat and tear gas thousands of students in Prague during a four hour antigovernment demonstration sparked by a memorial service for a Nazi-era victim. Between 10,000 and 20,000 youths marched with flowers and candles, chanting freedom and free elections as police moved in from both sides near Wenceslas Square. At least 13 hospitalized and many arrested.
