Clinton presses China on human rights in Asia tour

Train Kills Auburn Woman On Montezuma Tracks

A 19 year old Auburn woman Shannon Hotaling was struck by a Conrail freight train on Fox Ridge Road in Montezuma while walking with four friends. She died at University Hospital after being dragged about 200 feet. Deputies charged the group with trespassing on railroad property.

Hunter's knife saves life as others shoot at deer near Minot ND

A hunter kept a knife in his shirt pocket that blocked a bullet aimed near his heart. Howard Lemere escaped with only a cracked rib after a companion hunter fired three shots at a coyote about 20 miles northwest of Minot North Dakota. The shooter fled in his car.

Tropical Storm Gordon Hits Caribbean and Heads to Florida

Gordon battered Cuba and Haiti with 45 mph winds and 120 mph gusts, flooding Jamaica and triggering tents collapse at Guantanamo Bay. The storm was 255 miles southeast of Miami this morning and expected to push toward Florida, threatening refugees kept at the US base.

Man with record suspensions nabbed for unlicensed operation

Larry Linen, accused of the most suspensions in New York state, was stopped by police after an illegal U turn. He was dancing without a license and charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, plus a citation for driving without a license.
