Three Die In Fiery Crash Near Malone New York
Three North Country residents died when two cars collided near Malone at the Route 11 Creighton Road intersection shortly before midnight. The Day couple from Malone were engulfed by flames when the fuel tank exploded. Driver Richard A. Rockhill 24 of Southbridge Mass and passengers Donald A. Rockhill 18 and John A. Peryea 27 of Malone were treated at Alice Hyde Hospital. Rockhill faced a DWI charge.

Verona Fire Kills Sitter and Three Children
A mobile home fire in Verona Oneida County early today killed 14 year old Patricia Howe and three Way children ages 7 6 and 3 along with their teenage babysitter. Deputies said the blaze began in the kitchen and engulfed the trailer within minutes. arson is not suspected and investigators will continue.
