Onondaga County public schools report a 0.2 percent drop in student enrollment for a second year, while private and parochial schools surge. Mantius Pebble Hill in DeWitt leads with a 6.2 percent rise to 532 students, Faith Heritage in Syracuse up 43 percent to 611, and the Catholic Diocese district holds 363 students. The public districts lose 163 students. Manlius Pebble Hill notes gains aided by a new kindergarten and campus improvements amid concerns about violence.
