The National Weather Service at Hancock Airport predicts a 70 percent chance of rain tonight and tomorrow with possible snow at higher elevations. Temperatures fall to the 40s tonight, highs near 50 to 55 tomorrow, then clear by Saturday. Weekend outlook shows fair, cool weather with highs 45 to 50 Saturday and Sunday and mid 50s Monday.
State police probe a suspected homicide after Julio A Soto 20 of 931 South St Utica was found shot in a car on the shoulder of the westbound Thruway about 12:30 a.m. today. A trooper on routine patrol located the body during the overnight check.
Cardinal Terence Cooke of New York condemned legalized abortion as a legal and social disaster and endorsed a constitutional amendment allowing Congress and states to restrict abortion.
