Fruits and vegetables fail to ward off colon cancer
Harvard researchers report in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute that a 16 year study of over 136 000 health professionals found no link between high fruit and vegetable intake and reduced risk of colon or rectal cancer. Experts caution against overinterpreting the results while noting prior studies often relied on patient recall or showed only weak protection.
