Three Die In Town Of Fine Crash In St Lawrence County
A Jefferson County man and a Washington County couple died in a head on collision on Route 58 near Fine. Donald Pledger, 32, of Watertown, and William Morrison, 30, with Valerie, 29, of Sater, were killed after Pledger crossed the center line and ignited a fire. Morrison and his wife died of severe burns, Pledger from head and chest injuries. The cause is under investigation. Nationwide, 14 traffic deaths occurred over the Memorial Day weekend. 323 deaths had been recorded by 11 a.m. today.
