A bill allowing sale of wine coolers in grocery stores passed the Legislature with Senate 37 18 Assembly 90 52 votes. Gov Mario Cuomo was expected to act before Friday deadline. A 1984 state law granting exclusive grocery access to wine coolers was ruled unconstitutional by the U S Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan on May 10.
