Ex-Racketeer Big Earl Shelton Shot Again in Fairfield

In Fairfield Illinois an ailing record-shooting attack targets Earl Shelton known as Big Earl, last of the Stilton brothers. He was wounded in the left forearm while riding with his nephew Little Earl as a windshield bullet struck the car. The defense ministry said 27 guerrillas from Communist North Korea were killed Sunday about 70 miles north of Seoul. The reported casualties complete an army wipeout of 700 guerrillas who crossed from the north on March 27.

Unidentified man killed by truck near Werendale

State police report a man aged 45 to 50 was fatally struck by a truck on Route 17 at Youngs Gap six miles north of Werendale. The driver, Harold Doane, 49, of Binghamton, was identified by police.
