He notes black market stalls, portable roulettes, and wary street vendors as he lingers over the bustling, risky pedestrian landscape.
In Tokyo United States officials led by Gen. Douglas MacArthur's representative state that the U S does not favor Communism at home or in Japan but that the Communist Party retains the same rights as other political groups. A C 4 plane will transport delegates to Paris as needed, though no adjournment is planned.

She questions what apple pan dowdy is and plans to try the dish.
Mrs. Lucile D. Helvey, 39, of 1318 S State St, visited Lysander woods scene where her soldier-husband died Sunday afternoon from shotgun wounds. She told First Assistant D A Jesse E Cantor that she fired the first of two shots, claiming she did not intend to shoot her husband and had pushed the barrel while aiming to shoot over his head to attract attention. The account notes she initially recalled no recollection of firing.
A Senate labor committee approved a resolution calling for an investigation into the causes of labor disputes. The inquiry would examine union and employer policies and practices. Sponsors include Kilgore Morse Tunnell Mead and LaFollette Wise.

The House agricultural committee launched a comprehensive probe into domestic and world food conditions with first session set for tomorrow.
