A storm off the Northeast brings showers and isolated storms while another system strengthens in the Mississippi Valley. Tornadoes strike Topeka and Dunkerton injuring at least 10, with damage to City Hall and a nursing home. Kansas reports a tornado hitting an elementary school and an abandoned church. Strong winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes expected from Ohio Valley to New England, with cooler air behind a passing cold front. Temperatures range from the 40s to near 100 across various regions.
The forecast calls for variable winds with northerly and westerly directions. Expect strongest gusts near northwest 10 to 20 knots and west 9 to 18 knots for the day with moderate seas and scattered showers possible inland.
