The National Weather Service predicts a warm spell with a chance of rain this weekend. Tonight will be fair with a 45 degree low, tomorrow 75 to 80 with sun and clouds, and temperatures mid 70s Saturday and Sunday. Rain showers possible Sunday and a cooler high around 60 Monday.
A spring snowstorm blamed for two deaths dumped up to 17 inches from Utah to the Dakotas, stranding thousands as roads closed. In Texas a camper’s body was recovered after a 15 foot flood while four others remain missing. Scottsbluff reports snow sleet driven accidents and outages as sub freezing temps threaten beets.
About 50 women peace campaigners were removed from a camp outside Greenham Common where U S missiles are to be deployed this winter. Ten were arrested as tents were dismantled and a protester was injured during removal. The group sang as police cleared the area.

Eastern Ambulance Services Inc and its chief officers Martin Yenawine and Robert Barnes II were indicted by a county grand jury for conspiring to monopolize private ambulance and wheelchair services in Syracuse and Onondaga County. A parallel civil suit seeks to split Eastern into competing firms and curb anti-competitive practices.
In Washington House Democrats signal a repeal of the 1982 withholding law on interest and dividends with approval expected for a bill this afternoon. The move comes amid pressure from banking interests and potential veto clashes with President Reagan.
