Driver in court after deadly crash leaves friend dead

SU to lay off about 80 workers at Syracuse University

Syracuse University will lay off about 80 employees by end of June, its first cut in over 15 years. Most affected are non-union, non-faculty staff including bookstore workers, secretaries, and security personnel, with fewer impacts on faculty. About 20 staff on sponsored research programs lose positions as grant funds run out, including 10 at the Northeast Parallel Architecture Center.
