Komen Foundation grants benefit uninsured women and education
The Central New York Chapter announced 1997 Race for the Cure grants totaling 103,639 to 19 organizations for breast cancer screening education outreach and survivor support. Grants include 12,275 to Onondaga County Health Department for outreach and minority mammogram screening and 7,000 to Urban League of Onondaga County for minority outreach. Additional funding supports Planned Parenthood Northern New York Madison County and Cortland Oswego Cayuga Oneida Ontatio and other county health departments plus survivor groups and awareness clinics.
