Free fair vote urged in Panama election push
In Panama City the Catholic church and observers led by former U S presidents urge peaceful voting and a free fair process. Bush and opponents warn of rigging by Noriega loyalists as Carlos Duque backed by a pro-government coalition faces Guillermo Endara. Endara leads an opposition coalition amid media suppression and restricted airwave access. The winner takes office Sept 1 after Noriega engineered Delvalle's ouster. Carter and Ford headline a visiting delegation.
