murder trials begin for three Syracuse defendants in violent case
Jurors in Onondaga County prepare for multiple trials this week as Emmanuel Johnson Kenneth Alexander and two Syracuse teens face murder attempted murder and related charges. Johnson linked to a May 25 1997 shooting on Merriman Avenue through admissions and ballistics tests while Alexander stands accused in a fatal stabbing on Fayette Street. In the drive by case two teens Eric McAlpine and Jondell Middlebrooks face attempted murder charges after a December Midland Avenue shooting and a second incident involving police. Jury selections set before local judges.
