Wilson said he would request 2,000 more troops as 1,300 fires and $200 million in damage mounted across the city and surrounding areas amid protests after the Rodney King case.
A crowd of about 1450 protesters marched to the Onondaga County Courthouse in anger over the acquittal of four white Los Angeles officers seen on video. Urban League led the rally with chants and a tally. Protesters moved from the Public Safety Building toward Columbus Circle, demanding a fair verdict and equal rights.
