State Surplus Funds to Rebuild Postwar Yields High
Albany March 31 Governor Dewey announced New York State ends 1943-44 with a 15 million dollar surplus. All goes to the postwar reconstruction fund to rehab state properties and create jobs for veterans and others. The total reserve may exceed 200 million by March 31 1945 with further anticipated revenue gains from taxes and motor vehicle levies.
