Cuban Americans rally around Gonzalez home for Elian

About 1,000 Cuban Americans gathered in Little Havana near Elian’s home for a prayer vigil as Lazaro Gonzalez said he would release Elian to his father if needed. Fidel Castro claimed the father was willing to travel to the United States immediately pending assurances of return.
