The jam grew with the Williamsburg Bridge closed for stress tests and accidents on the Manhattan Bridge. One person injured as two of six Manhattan Bridge lanes were shut and an oil spill occurred. Firefighters cleaned up while LI Express and Queensboro Bridge lanes also faced closures. Police redeployed 150 to 200 officers to combat the congestion.
