Senate strengthens state shield law
Albany reports the Senate approved an expanded shield law to protect reporters notes newsroom files and TV outtakes from court disclosure. The measure would bar prosecutors from obtaining material unless relevance necessity and lack of alternatives are shown, with wide coverage beyond pledged confidentiality and support from Gov Cuomo.
