Lovers' lane made safe for toads
In The Hague Netherlands a yearly toad migration prompts road closures from dusk to dawn during mid March to mid April. Amateur naturalists led by Wijnand Bleumink monitor crossings as 600 to 1,000 toads pass, with amplexus aiding egg laying of 3,000 to 6,000 eggs per mating season.
