Farmhouse fire kills two in Pittstown
In rural Pittstown a two story farmhouse fire claimed the lives of 7 year old Heather Dallas and her grandmother Margaret Wagner 52. The blaze on county Route 115 began about 630 pm and was not extinguished until early today after 13 fire companies battled heavy smoke. Heather's mother Sandra was attending night classes nearby and was treated for shock. the father is living in Florida. Cause under investigation.

FALN claims blast at Yippies HQ in New York
A caller identifying as FALN said the Puerto Rican group caused an explosion outside the Yippies East Village headquarters injuring two bomb squad officers.
