Syracuse scientists to study NYC reservoirs

Upstate Freshwater Institute researchers from Syracuse will study New York City reservoirs under a 1.5 million dollar contract. They will build computer models to keep the largest unfiltered water supply pristine, addressing pollution and development risks. If filtration becomes necessary, estimates reach 4 to 8 billion.

Yale Refunds $20 Million Gift Over Curriculum Control

Yale University will return a $20 million donation from Towne Pilanthrome, a 1979 alumnus, to preserve academic autonomy after he sought to approve professors for a Western Civilization curriculum.
