60 Day Tax Extensions May Be Granted By IRS
Washington March 9 The Internal Revenue Bureau may grant 60 days or more extensions for filing returns upon showing need. Helvering warns no blanket deferments. extensions up to 60 days via district collectors, longer only with Commissioner approval. Corporations must file a tentative return and pay first quarterly estimate. Interest at 6 percent accrues on unpaid taxes. A ruling on expense money for dollar a year government employees says per diem is income if lived in Washington. otherwise deductions are allowed for amounts actually spent while here.

OPA Expands Fuel Oil Rations for Abnormally Cold Areas
