Air Force to switch to commercial power at Hancock base
Weston says the Air Force will convert to commercial electricity by summer, saving about $100,000 a month while keeping 20 percent of power from on site diesel generators. The change supports keeping the base open ahead of its 1984 closure, with the Army NETSC system and Air National Guard remaining tenants.
