Liverpool man slain in Fishkill prison
George Fischer, 25, formerly of Liverpool, who was serving seven years for second degree robbery, was killed in his Fishkill Correctional Facility cell by fellow inmate Frederick Lee Cowan, 26, of Brooklyn. Cowan was charged with second degree murder, arraigned in Fishkill Town Court, and held without bail. Fischer was sentenced April 5, 1973, for auto theft charges.
