Mall child attacker seeks harsher penalties and life in prison
Tranfic said he does not believe that is severe enough for defendants who molest children and the district attorney's office is pushing for a change in state law that would allow repeat child molesters to face life in prison. To allow the Tandrew to plead guilty to the sex abuse count in the Carousel Center case, the prosecution agreed not to pursue additional charges. Jandrew stole photographs from St. Matthew's School in East Syracuse from February 1991 through February 1993. Nine pictures were found in his duffel bag when arrested on a shoplifting charge in December. Six were identified as students at St. Matthew's. Parents of one child attended court and said they keep her under constant supervision.
