Fraud charges bind DeWitt pool dealer
Dave Elerding, a Des Moines pool salesman, invited a supposed buyer to Room 1132 in the Savery Hotel. The alleged buyer, Dean P. Vlassis of DeWitt, is accused of leading a “balt and owited” sales script to push expensive pools while denying genuine intent to purchase. Vlassis has built a multi state pool business since 1967, selling 4000 pools yearly and earning about $8 million, aided by upscale living and wealthy assets including a Rolls Royce.
