Disability Plan Starts Tomorrow in New York
New York State begins full operation of sickness disability insurance tomorrow. About 6,000,000 workers are assured protection against sickness or disability tied to their jobs, though officials estimate only 400,000 currently will enroll. The program, alongside workmen's compensation and unemployment insurance, provides round the clock wage protection and weekly cash benefits from 10 to 26 dollars for up to 13 weeks.
