Vera House Dinner Celebrates Seventh Sister Mary Vera Award
Vera House hosted its seventh annual Celebration Dinner at Crimlins Country Club drawing 250 supporters. The event honored Bryan Ennis, Onondaga County principal probation officer, for improving services to domestic violence victims, while also spotlighting state and national efforts like the 1994 Domestic Violence Intervention Act and addressing the O J Simpson case. Guests included Dede Allen, Sally Berry, and numerous local officials and supporters. a memorial fund was announced for Katherine Hurd Rogers’s daughter. The Cavalry Club porch hosted Advocates for Girls Inc. of Central New York with Judge Minna Buck as speaker, noting 1,750 girls served in 1993.
