Aging women face growing financial strain as programs tighten
Experts warn the oldest Americans, especially women, will bear the burden of Medicare Medicaid and Social Security cuts. Women live longer are more often widowed and underinsured, raising risks of poverty and heavy nursing home costs as the population ages. By 2030 women will outnumber men among those 85 and older and disproportionally occupy nursing homes.
