SUNY Health Science Center Syracuse president Dr John Bernard Henry will receive an $8,150 raise to $157,000 per year starting July 1. The SUNY Board of Trustees voted to raise pay to keep the center competitive with other public universities.
Nelson Mandela's nephew Mandla Kumalo, a high school senior-to-be, showed interest in SU for 1991. SU officials confirmed the family link but would not speculate on his application or attendance, noting Kumalo visited campus with other colleges and could apply as early as October or November.
