Washington reports relations with Finland at a breaking point as Finland says it has a perfect understanding with Nazi Germany and will receive armed aid. Officials note hope for Russo Finnish peace short of Finland's defeat as de Gaulle may visit Roosevelt in early July.
Washington reports the United States recalls Ambassador Norman Armour to protest Argentina under General Edelmiro Farrell for not joining anti Axis efforts. Armour expected to depart Buenos Aires within 24 hours for consultations as U S seeks multilateral alignment in the hemisphere. Only Chile Paraguay and Bolivia maintained relations with Farrell since the Ramirez government toppled in February.
Police report Joe Rubin a 48 year old pioneer night club master of ceremonies and Benny Rubin brother shot and killed bartender Guy Formica 25 outside a Boston night spot Rubin jailed on suspicion of murder Formica allegedly tried to hold him up.

In Fargo North Dakota on Tuesday complete precincts reported Stambaugh leading Nye by about 725 votes. Stambaugh ran as an independent with a platform of world affairs cooperation, while Nye had Republican endorsement. Burdick of the Non-Partisan League placed third and Townley, running as an independent, finished fourth.
