West German embassy seals main door to East Berlin mission
West German diplomats closed the main door to the East Berlin mission to halt a daily flow of up to 20 East Germans seeking escape to the West. About 45 East Germans were inside. officials limited visitors to a room at the gate as talks moved outdoors. Braeutigam called the measure temporary and said the mission could not become a political crisis.
