Windy day leaves city stunned with downed trees
Hundreds faced power outages as high winds knocked down limbs and felled trees across Syracuse and Camillus. Niagara Mohawk dispatched 20 crews while firefighters reported downed lines and damaged property, including a car roof crushed by a maple limb. Weather caused outages in Chittenango and Fairmont areas with multiple limbs on wires and trees blocking roads. Police logged scattered incidents and a basement fire blamed on lightning struck antenna.

Graduation ceremonies faced rain across more than a dozen Onondaga County high schools. Baker High in Baldwinsville moved indoors to a bus garage for 434 seniors with 4,000 chairs set up. NYC boy drowns during Palmyra fishing trip
Four year old Michael Barsley of Queens drowned in Ganargua Creek near a Palmyra bridge after falling from the structure while waving to his grandmother. He was found about 100 feet from the bridge and died at Newark Wayne Community Hospital Saturday night. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
