City Parks Swim Classes Open Monday
A city wide swim campaign sponsored by the Herald Journal and the Chamber of Commerce opens Monday at Burnet Mecinney Onondaga Thornden Schiller Huntington Parks and the YWCA and YMCAs. Girls swim 10 45 AM to noon boys 2 PM to 315 PM through July 10 with lifeguards and safety rules, then seven week Red Cross instruction starts July 12.

Youth Slips Needed For Under Eighteen Applicants
The Chamber of Commerce and Walter L. Fox at 351 South Warren Street advise minors require parental or guardian slips. Due to a life guard shortage, public parks pools cut daily hours from 10 to eight, with operation noon to 8 PM starting Monday. Smith T. Fowler, Municipal Recreation Commission secretary, announced the change after supervising Kirk Park’s recreation institute final session this morning.

War rationing board to act on 200 speeding cases
The County War price and rationing board plans hearings on about 200 reports of violations of the 35 mile per hour wartime limit. District Office of Price Administration secretary A Ray Holmes said cases come from city traffic court records. Defendants must present a defense to avoid gasoline ration revocation.
