The City Recreation Department runs a five pool learn to swim program for youngsters. Beginners splash in shallow water at Thornden Schiller McKinley and Burnet Parks from 10 A.M. weekdays, with 27 lifeguards on duty until 8 P.M. Progress records will be kept and successful children earn American Red Cross badges.
A 21 member advisory committee on teachers salaries was named to aid the State Education Department in administering the new minimum salary schedules for New York's 77 000 teachers. It will begin work at a two day meeting here June 30 and July 1 with more sessions planned this summer and fall.
A 13 member clergymen party will tour Europe to report to Secretary of War Patterson on issues facing the American Army in occupied Germany and Austria. The 35 day journey ends July 28 and includes Most Rev Bryan J McEntegart bishop of Ogdensburg New York.
