The Polish American Congress condemned the Soviet verdict on 16 Poles as a slow death in Soviet prisons.
Dr. Willem Schermerhorn, 50, a resistance leader, was named premier of a 14 member Dutch cabinet formed today to replace the Gerbrandy government. The group includes 11 resistance figures and will be sworn Monday.
Albany CP A reports record income tax activity by New York residents with totals of returns and payments up to last year. First five months 1945 show $109 486 354 in income tax collections, state share $93 164 416, local disbursements remainder. Installment payments due July 16 October 15 and January 15 total about $37 500 000 from 226 056 taxpayers.
