A two year old Detroit girl, donor from Jackson area, survived a six hour operation at C S Mott Children s Hospital in Ann Arbor. She remains in critical but stable condition in intensive care with steady vital signs and no complications. Doctors cite immunity suppression drugs and a tough recovery ahead. The donor was a three year old boy from southern Michigan who died of meningitis. Names are withheld.
