21 year old woman dies in I 81 crash

A 21 year old Essex County woman Jennifer Nicoll of Ausable Forks died when her southbound Suburban on I 81 veered off into a ditch near Exit 2 Taft Road after she apparently fell asleep at the wheel. Deputies found no skid marks. rescue crews and Niagara Mohawk workers reported the crash.

Smoking mothers harm children's lungs study says

Harvard researchers report in the June 15 issue of the American Journal of Epidemiology that children aged 9 to 12 born to mothers who smoked during pregnancy have about 5 percent less lung capacity. The damage appears in the first trimester, potentially before pregnancy is known.
