Health officials led by Onondaga County Health Commissioner Dr James Miller warn hepatitis A cases may rise beyond the current 100 across Onondaga Monroe and Cortland counties. A 20 year old Park Street bulk produce distributor worker ill June 1 5 carried the virus but did not handle food. Two Wendy's workers at James Street and Thompson Road also contracted hepatitis A this month. The source of infection remains unknown and officials fear further spread if more food handlers become ill.
