Pension bill differences still unresolved in Albany row
State leaders return to bargaining with Gov Cuomo after Assembly approval of a Tier IV pension reform bill. Senate already passed its version and left town. Key clashes include Social Security offset for prison officers, retirement age, and cost differences. Both sides keep 3 percent employee contributions. Assembly plan costs more, especially in New York City, with 330,000 Tier I workers affected. The 1983 session nears end and a quick resolution is needed to avoid extending current law.
