Col Leroy Short to celebrate 90th birthday at Oneida church

Short born in St Lawrence County and served in York National Guard US Army Air Force WWII rising to colonel in Air Force Reserves in 1954. A lifelong marksman and founder of Oneida Rifle Club member for 40 years, he formed the Oneida Junior Rifle Club in 1946 teaching firearm safety to teens in Central New York. Married 60 years to Mabel A Teal until her 1988 death. He worked as an engineer 1930-1967 at the National Guard armory Oneida.
