Alexander backs urban agenda before Democratic Platform Committee
Syracuse Mayor Lee Alexander, co chair of the 1984 platform panel, expressed confidence that the Democratic Platform Committee will accept his urban agenda proposals for jobs, housing, and city infrastructure. He noted possible further negotiations as multiple candidates vie for the nomination, and referenced hearings in New Orleans Detroit and Charleston that led to the agenda. Alexander planned to attend the conference meeting in Philadelphia later in the week.
