A pedestrian was struck by a moving automobile at an intersection near University Hospital and escaped with minor injuries. The driver identified as Robert Ray, of 143 Cannon Street, is being investigated. The victim was treated at University Hospital.
Today marks the final schol day for senior high school pupils as exams approach next week. Junloe high and grammar school pupils will attend examination week and receive reparl cards for the forthcoming tests.
George B Burnet retires after 29 years with the Oneida County Public Welfare Department honored by colleagues at a luncheon held at the 40 and 8 Club. Allen Reinhardt deputy commissioner presented him a radio and Chillford as a token of appreciation. Toastmaster John T Furze presided the event. Charles Nolce and Bion Roosa arranged the luncheon.
Fellgmafe & Fraser of Parsippany Field Park New Jersey has been awarded a 33000 contract for architectural and engineering services for a Naval Reserve Armory. Commissioners say blueprints will be ready by July for a 280000 structure to be built on Onondaga Lake near Liverpool. The project is with the secretary of the Navy and may go to Congress. construction could start around August 1.
Baldwinsville farmer and real estate agent R B Jones will be Democratic candidate for Onondaga County welfare commissioner. Announcement by county Democratic chair Charles J Hogan notes Jones residence on State Fair Boulevard and confirms candidate for the post with further ticket decisions expected Saturday.
