The National Weather Service at Hancock Airport reports clear night skies with a low near 60 and a sunny day tomorrow with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Extended forecast Monday calls for fair skies, lows 50 to 60, highs 75 to 85.
Chrysler Corp. shut its Windsor Ontario assembly plant that makes rear wheel drive cars and began preparing the site for fall production of a new minivan, according to United Press International.
The Albany daily numbers gate selected last night ends with 007 as the winning number and the Win Four draw produced 8636. The Associated Press reported the results.

Four people killed and four injured in a two car head on collision on Route 34 near County House Road Cayuga County. The drivers of the vehicles, Mark Wilson 20 of Union Springs and C Jeffrey Davis 37 of Auburn, died at the scene. Four other passengers were injured including a baby and two Auburn residents in guarded condition. The crash remains under investigation with agencies aiding at the scene.
New York Telephone asks the state Public Service Commission to approve a supplemental rate increase totaling about 160 million dollars per year. Residential customers would see roughly a 2.7 percent monthly rise starting August 22, with higher charges mainly on equipment and service connections. The increase funds higher taxes and new wage settlements under contracts with seven unions expiring August 8. usage charges remain unchanged.
A 7 year old boy was arrested for burglarizing a neighbor's garage marking his third such arrest in under a year. Detectives Hasselburg and Langle said charges were requested by the Marion County prosecutor. The youth, released to his mother, faces a June 20 appearance in juvenile court. Neighbors identified the boy after a June 3 break in that yielded about 125 dollars worth of hand tools and a kerosene lamp.
An 1300 B C Egyptian statue rediscovered in upstate New York in 1982 sold for 241000 at Sotheby's Parke-Bernet. The 1100-pound, 3-foot piece, once shown at the British Museum, was bought by an anonymous bidder after a New York sale. It had been exhibited in London before being moved to the Chautauqua Institution.
In Pineville Louisiana a despondent hospital worker firing an AR-15 killed his former girlfriend Patricia Ainsworth 26 and Douglas Auble 24 after being ordered to leave their Tioga trailer home. An Alexandria officer George Tines was wounded lightly by a ricochet as Campos 38 was shot dead by officers. He had earlier admitted killing two people and said he deserved to die. The 5 year old daughter of Ainsworth survived uninjured.
