It sent a $1.28 billion funding bill to the House floor and rejected $612 million for a Dixon Yates to TVA power line, instead earmarking funds to start a Fulton Tennessee Valley Authority plant. The action signals a possible Dixon Yates exit without a new outlet and sets up a heated floor battle with political implications for 1956.
