Gopher wood fires and Patton fitness notes feature in Chaumont Bay column
In Chaumont Bay country many cottagers still seek heat as June stays cool. Harry Vincent touts Gopher wood as a fast burning fuel, while a Patton fitness letter from 1941 inspires Rev. George MacNish to urge boys toward physical training. Community notes salute local staff, veterans, and events including a Dewitt Fire Department bridge party and auto-name submissions.
