Two Killed and Injured in Syracuse Area Vehicle Crashes
Two men died and four others were hurt in a sequence of crashes around Route 3 and South Bayard, including a collision between a car and a tractor trailer. John M. Stawasz, 617 S. Wilcox, killed at the scene. Thomas Buchner, 24, East Syracuse, crushed and died shortly after. Richard Wotting, driver of the Leader trailer, critically injured with pelvic fracture and internal injuries. A 13 year old girl injured while riding a bicycle near Highland Street, later receiving last rites at a hospital. A second crash near DeRuyter involved Robert Goodfellow, stalled on a track struck by a train. no serious injuries reported for him.
